When I moved to my new place, I had no idea what to with a basement. Most houses don’t have them anymore and I had no idea how to use the space without making my stuff smell musty or keeping the air from growing stagnant. I took a class at the Home Depot about understanding mechanical ventilation and they suggested that it would be cheapest to get a ceiling fan for the basement. If I keep it on the lowest setting all the time, it never gets too hot or too cold and the air never gets stale because the air is always circulating.
