Golden Week sees thousands of Chinese Lanterns lit
February 8th, 2010 . by adminA great number of people will be going to Hong Kong at the beginning of October for the Golden week festival, celebrating the Chinese national day. Chinese Lanterns will be released throughout the week. Shops are full of holidaymakers and it is hard to find a hotel room. Streets are crowded at all times. People from Chinese mainland also travel to Hong Kong for the gold jewellery which is less expensive and more authentic than back home. There are lots of stalls all around, selling cakes, paintings and old artifacts. There are also fireworks displays each night, and children carry paper lanterns.
